Introducing FIRST DAYS sessions {kansas city newborn photographer}

I’ve been working on getting this together so I could finally let you all know about it! I’m so excited to announce the new First Days Sessions. It’s not a birth session and it’s not a newborn session…it’s something in between:)

What it is:
A 1 hour session to be held within your baby’s first 48 hours of life. There is no posing or props- just straight up lifestyle shots to capture the newness and little details of your tiny baby. Mom and dad, as well as siblings, are encouraged to participate!Perfect for capturing those first “meetings”- new sibling, first grandchild or great-grandchild, etc.

Where it is:
The baby’s birth place is the session location- hospital, birth center or home.

How it works:
You have your baby. You call me to let me know and we set up a time for the photos. I come to the birth place within the first two days of your new baby’s life to capture your little one and their tiny, fresh, perfect newness:)

What it costs: $400
The First Days session includes a CD with 15-25 images and printing rights.

Something new and different for me {kansas city senior photographer? maybe…}

I have been wanting to break into the senior market for a while now. I actually had a couple senior sessions schedule last spring…but then I went and had a baby a month early so those sessions never took place. So back in October, when my cousin asked me to take her senior photos, I was excited to do it- and I had a BLAST!! Seriously, this was such a fun session. Erin brought along her friend and they were joking and laughing and talking about their plans for the evening…I felt kind of “young” again just listening to them:)Erin wanted a nature-y (yes, that’s a word) feel for her photos and I knew a great spot so I headed out for a test run on the senior thing. Erin is so unbelievable pretty and cool and she did everything I asked her to, which is was a nice change:)

I am not currently offering senior portraits, but I’m hoping to build up my portfolio and offer that service by spring 2013!

The Maxey Family {kansas city child photographer}

No, not THIS Maxey family…my brother-in-law’s family! My sister-in-law, Mary, asked me to take some photos for Miss Avery’s one year birthday and of course I jumped at the chance! Avery is such a little cutie and she looooves her big sister Payton. We headed to Antioch Park on a perfect fall evening for our session. Avery loved watching the ducks while Payton kept one eye on her little sister and one eye on me, stopping to strike a pose when I asked her to:)Avery is a girl on the move and she kept me busy chasing after her- I always get a great workout as sessions like this:)We weren’t at the park for long but we had a fun time and got some great images!

Are they a beautiful family or what??!!?

Layla & Violet {kansas city newborn photographer}

How sweet are these two??! Oh my goodness, I just love them:)Layla & Violet’s mom and dad could not be more patient and loving- it’s hard with one baby, let alone TWO! I was kind of nervous about shooting twins- I don’t get many of those so I asked a friend and fellow photographer, Jessica, to come along with me to assist and it worked out great! We had a fun and fairly easy session, the girls were great and slept well and it went as smooth as a newborn session could:)The girls are now happy 6 month olds!  (Yes, this is another catch up blog post, ha!)
