She just couldn’t wait. {Kansas City NICU Photographer}

Apparently she thought being an outside baby would be more interesting than an inside baby! On June 18th, at only 29 weeks gestation, Jacey Lee made her big entrance into the world weighing just under 2 pounds. 2 pounds!! SO teeny tiny! Here is a pic from mom on the day she was born: Not much bigger than her daddy’s hand! When…

I LOVE this session! It is so wonderful that you were able to document Jacey’s experience! It is incredible that you offer this to parents! I hope that Jacey grows up to be a beautiful little girl!

Hi, one of my friends sent me your link that you do NICU pictures. I was wondering if you would consider doing some PICU pictures for us. Short version of our story is I have 21 month old triplets and our daughter Lydia has never been home. Wyatt and Ava were in the NICU for 6 & 7 weeks and are now thriving toddlers. She was in Children’s Hospital Boston for 15 months undergoing multiple surgeries to correct a defect of her esophagus and heart and ultimately it was not successful. She was transferred back to Children’s Mercy 2 weeks ago and they are not giving us a very good prognosis at this time. We are hoping to get her strong enough to have some time at home with her in the next couple months if possible. I know 2 active toddlers and a critically ill child isn’t the most ideal photography session so I would understand completely if that seems a bit overwhelming or if you would prefer not to take on the session. I’ve already tried talking to the nurse about getting her a wee bit of outside time in the next couple weeks so maybe that couple be an option. Let me know if you would consider shooting us :)
Cheers, Amanda

Amanda, thanks so much for contacting me. I actually know about you and the triplets and would love to do a session for you guys! Your story just breaks my heart and I think of you often, even though we’ve never met. I’m emailing you right now.
